Yes, there are a number of members at the park today, so I would expect a very big update later today. I also imbedded the video mentioned earlier, since it is the best one to date showing of the ride.

Re: Skyrush Official Discussion Thread

All-American Thrills was at Hersheypark's Springtime in the Park today to cover all the new changes, especially with Skyrush and The Hollow so let's get started:

Skyrush dominates the skyline, even from the parking lot.

Welcome to the new 2012 theme park season!

Our first look at Skyrush from inside the park! This thing really dominates over both The Hollow and Founder's Circle.

Here's a looks at Comet's new queue line, which is set up differently than the old way, which was a lot wider. The new version is much longer and extends down to where the former game stand once was located.

I think they did a wonderful job with the station. The clock tower is, indeed,
a nice touch!

The concrete for the queue line is starting to go in.

The Hollow signage.

Comet's new facade.

Wave Swinger received a brand new sign to go along with the vintage theming of The Hollow.

The new Hollow Famous Famiglia's Pizza place. I actually like this facade better than the Looper Sandwich Stop.

The new Skyrush Slush stand.

We can't forget about Tilt-A-Whirl back in its original spot!

We can't forget about our beloved Anton Schwartzkopf which will be receiving lots of TLC this year as well!

Skyrush peeking up behind Great Bear from the monorail.

It definitely can be seen from all around the park!

Even the soda machines are decked out with Skyrush!

How about some Skyrush aerial pix?!

The new Nut Hut and yes it does smell good.

This message board was new.

The Rhineland popcorn stand was rebuilt.

AND- as promised, All-American Thrills has the FIRST picture of a Skyrush train on the TRACK! This is HUGE, folks!

And I leave you with an ALT Opening Day group shot! (photo courtesy of Walter White).

Also don't forget that our Springtime in the Park meet-up is coming up on April 14th so be sure to mark your calendars. And be sure to invite your family and friends as well!

I think they are awful. I've been getting mugs for the past 3 years and I always thought they were great. This year they are very cheesey. I saw someone drop one over the weekend and it shattered into 5 or 6 pieces.

I honestly like the old ones too, now there is a random switch in people collections.

As for the entrance there is a picture of it in the most recent update. It is over to the left of the station and the line is practically where tilt-a-whirl's was.

I would hope that for $25 million that would include paint touch-ups, because you know that durring transport and construction they have scratches and from where they smoothed out the joints.

Here are some more pictures from Kathy's Twitter

Great shot of the creek and new path

Better view of the new path with the drained creek. This will be an amazing spot when complete.

Close up of the catch car.

A great shot of the station and catch car showing off how long the catch car is and how nice the station is progressing

And finally a close up of the edge seat. I wish it were extended more, but pretty sweet and definitely unique.

Is it me, or do the wheels look awfully close to where the rider's heels are going to be?

Maybe it's just the angle, but when I look at the pic, I think I could kick the wheels with my heels during the ride?

Oh thanks the only thing I could remotely think of was they used it as a guide for when puting the trains on. Is that currently on all the track or is that later? I don't think the tape worked much on fahrenheit

The trains look amazing by the way. There's absolutely nothing to them!

I can't spot any belts in the picture except the one that goes between legs. So if I'm not mistaken, the only restraint is going to be the lap bar, correct?

Ok maybe it is partly from expanding and contracting with temp. changes. The first time I rode fahrenheit I thought it was very bumpy for a steel coaster.

Is the creek now able to be drained whenever they want or do they have a temporary pump there. If it is then I am thinking that the ability to drain the creek whenever will be good b/c if they are expecting a lot of rain they could prevent another flood.

Thanks Walt love the the first pic showing the creek filled in that looks great!!! Love the lights they are installing along that path, when everything is done and the tree and grass start to grow in that's going to be one amazing looking area of the park.

Also glad to see that huge A$$ motor and working being done around it, shouldn't much longer before we see that cable!!!

To stormrunner they drained the creek to finish up the work that still needed to be done in those area's like Walt stated in his report above

Thanks Robjob, and thanks again for the pics. I'm so excited. A month, and 13 days left! Very Happy

I love that first photo the creek looks so nice.. I can't wait to see the trains flying over the water and @Hershey Bears I believe they will have the ability to drain the creek whenever they want so they can do maintenance on the ride in case something were to happen.

Great photos, wizzard33, thank you! The creek all filled in there looks fantastic. And I think the reflections of the track in the water, especially when there are actual trains running, is going to make that whole area just pop. Can't imagine the photo opportunities that await us all from The Path, not to mention just standing there 10 feet below the track as a Skyrush train roars overhead!

We've already seen the cable, it's already on the track. This post on News Plus Notes clearly shows that:

That's the catch car, I believe. They are still yet to add the actual cable according to that photo. Look right above the catch car, it's not there.

Like Stormrunner said the Cable isn't there just the catch car but I'm thinking we shall see the actual cable attached to the catch car real soon.

Robert, I'm not sure the cable is even on-site yet? It has be very large and I don't think it was ever in the field or in the stadium. Where oh where is our cable - That is the question.
