NOTE: IGNORE THE DATE ON EACH IMAGE. IT IS WRONG.
ALL these images were taken today, Jan 14th, 2012. Regardless of what each picture says
Thanks!

Work being done to the crown piece.

Working on the catwalk supports.

The yellow pieces sticking out is where the catwalk will sit on.

Station.

The temp support is down, lol.

The crown for Skyrush being pieced together!

It's off the ground!

....And it's lowering back down....

And it will remain here until tomorrow!

Transformers, 1 of 3 in.

The crown of this beast is coming together!

A catwalk support piece in the air, being installed! All the catwalk is assembled in the are where the track is stored. It has yellow railings and silver steps.

It can't be as hard as setting a clock on a VCR or changing a microwave clock to change the date on the camera. SMH
That's going to be a very steep staircase up the lift.

Re: Skyrush Official Discussion Thread
Most of us are thinking around the course of this week sometime when the lift will be topped off. By the time of our meet-up this Saturday, there should be no reason that we wouldn't be looking at a full lift hill, especially at how quick they've been working and since they also have the crown pieces over at the construction site ready to go as well.

That's the air bridge and sky plumbing going up. Apparently that brace is going to anchor the crown as it's getting bolted and the first drop piece arrives.

The site being drained is only temporary for construction and it will be flooded once it's finished.

Great update as usual!
Also remember folks that this Sunday (January 22nd) will be our ZooAmerica Community Weekend meet-up - 11 a.m outside Chocolate World. We'll also be providing plenty of more opportunities for Skyrush updates during the day along with a visit to the zoo and Chocolate World. This is YOUR chance to see the construction of Skyrush in person and be able to discuss about it with some of us as well.

Re: Skyrush Official Discussion Thread
Here are pics from today's (1/22) meet-up:

Easily visible from Chocolate World.

The Stengel Dive is easily visible from here.

They're working in the sooperdooperLooper Sandwich Stop. I know this didn't open for both Hersheypark in the Dark and Candylane due to the flood so I'm guessing now is the time to really get the place back up and running for Springtime in the Park.

Won't be too much longer until it's capped off.

If you look closely, there's some kind of red cord/cable draped over Looper's track/structure. I don't know what this is for.

The Whack-A-Mole is still in it's current spot. Also note the "Santa Clause" sign that wasn't removed yet from Candylane.

Skyrush can be seen from ZooAmerica's entrance.

This piece should be crowned to the lift any day now.

Great Bear, Comet, Skyrush and sooperdooperLooper all in one photo.

Great Bear, Skyrush, Comet and Storm Runner all in one photo.

Working on rebuilding the decorative edge of the creek.

The lift hill can easily be seen from Tudor Square.

Looking through the gates into Rhineland, you can spot the lift hill through the trees. Unfortunately, this view will be blocked when the trees begin to bloom.

See you in two weeks for our "Chocolate-Covered February Meet-up" on February 5th, 2012!

Re: Skyrush Official Discussion Thread
Our favorite construction worker has just posted a 3 minute behind the scene video of the construction site. What's amazing with this video is Griz, our favorite Contruction worker takes us on a walk down the new Sunkin Garden path currently under construction. Talk about head choppers with the ride as you walk through and under Skyrush.
This is a video of Skyrush from across the street from Hershey
Our final video for this update is of the first drop as it stands today: New against the old.

Conjecture
Skyrush's size is quite underwhelming...it doesn't look the part of a hypercoaster as yet, am I just too acclimated to Leviathan? The video with Great Bear in the foreground evidences this best...I think Skyrush's terrain is at least 30' shy of the land Great Bear is on, but its lift is only 90' and Skyrush isn't too distant. I suspect that the 200' height statistic actually reflects the drop, which seems to be at a lower grade. This coaster is shaping up to be awesome regardless.
Anon85- Guest
Conjecture
I suppose it's just a combination of the fact that Skyrush isn't quite topped out and there's perhaps up to a 40'+ difference in grade.

Skyrush is 200ft lift, and the drop is 200ft. And there "look" to a hyper coaster, as this is an obvious example.
