I love the slight change in elevation and just the smooth swooping nature of the entire track. I will be shocked if Skyrush doesn't make the top 10 world wide.

ALT will continue to keep you all updated on all the little cosmetic changes continuing to take place around the ride. We'll also be there opening day of STITP and will have photo coverage from inside the park as well.

Well - LOL - I have to admit I am looking forward to seeing the creek get full again, along with leaves on the trees, cause I believe Skyrush will also be a VERY photogenic ride.
But truth be told, I am logging on everyday because I can't wait to see trains on the track AND the first testing video.

There's that ironworker in the muscle tee again, giving us a "gun show"!
I'm sure they will now torque down the bolts and start installing the lift sled, cables, and the train. Next up will be a pull-through before they can start doing full testing.

Whooooooooo! Crank the bolts together, thread the lift cable, put the trains on and test so we can "ride the edge"
Have they been working on other things for skyrush or did they take most of the day to lift it into place

As usual thanks for the continuous coverage guys, One ? though...Since the track is complete does that mean that's the end of the GUN show

A new update has also been posted to Keystone Thrills: http://keystonethrills.wordpress.com/2012/03/25/hersheypark-skyrush-construction-update-100-32312-trackwork-complete/#comment-494
Looking at this update, they are definitely making progress in Comet Hollow and wtih the new path! Does anyone else think that the entrance to the new path seems kind of narrow though?

Fair enough HP, sorry for the poor choice of words. Regarding the path, it's supposedly wide enough for 4 or 5 people across. I personally can't wait to check it out, since it should give some amazing views of the ride.

Re: Skyrush Official Discussion Thread
The pictures are fantastic! It's nice to see the station up close. The video of Comet testing is a nice treat. Did Hershey change the bar style on Comet? I remember they were the standard buzz bars with seatbelts. Did they switch over to lap bars? The path does seem small, then it might be the vantage point from where the picture was taken that made it look narrow. I don't think Hershey is intending this pathway to be one of the main arteries of the park, but rather an "off the beaten path" kind of a path.

yeah I don't think it will be a main arterie of the park. At least not now, in the next few years the path may be favored by guest over going up into founders circle then down into comet hallow. Also when they eventually expand the path might get more usage. So if it does get popular they may have to make the path wider
Does anyone know when the new map will be released

Regarding the new path, I think there is a possibility that could also be the start for when they expand into the old golf course. If you think about it, it would be easier to take that new path from Comet Hollow out there instead of walking through Founder's Circle and where Creekside Catering was located.
I also think this path pays homeage to the old "Canyon Pass" that went around the old Rapids and under Roller Soaker. Another "short cut" to get from one end of the park to the other.

Yes, thats what I basically said about the new path as it becomes popular they may decide to expand it.

that is correct, that i when they would not let people go through the path, although the path is still physically there! i loved that path, it was so much quicker and quieter than the way it is now! and i will always remember getting soaked under the water soaker's lift hill! lol people poured water on my whole family when we went through that path!

Had that ramp on the comet station been enclosed for many years? I seem to remember that from when I was a kid. It looks strange being open like that, but I like it! Can't wait for Springtime in the Park to see it first hand.

Re: Skyrush Official Discussion Thread
According to the new 2012 mobile app, not only is the area receiving a makeover, but also the name as well - it will now be known as "The Hollow".
Harry Michelson from the Project 2012 group also was able to get back inside the park and provided some new photos showing off the area's progress:

The "new" Nut Hut which was located down by Comet's queue line. The old stand was damaged from Tropical Storm Lee back in September so they rebuilt the place in this new location.

And the new mobile app showing off "The Hollow" as well as Tilt-A-Whirl in its new spot. I'm assuming that this is the Springtime map since it was mentioned that the summer map will be entirely made over. This photo courtesy of Matthew Rydzik.
Harry also posted more pics on the 2012 Group, these are just some of them.

Do they plan on putting down a fresh coat of pavement all over The Hollow before it opens? It looks like a mess, and with it opening in almost a week it seems like they are running out of time.

Wow!! "The Hollow" is looking amazing!!! I especially like comet's renovated station. It is kinda sad to see the "comet" part be taken out of "comet hollow"- I feel like it loses some of its historical feel, but oh well I'll get over it.

Whoa. Whoa. Wait. Back up. The clock on the station is now keeping time!
As for the comet, it had a solid fence that blocked the view from the midway. It would definitely be a difference now that the view is more visible. Should give a more open feel to it.
