This design is very B&M like... I'm very happy to see how it turned out and just made me even more ecstatic for Skyrush! Memorial Day weekend can't come fast enough!

I think it's great that Hershey park has a steel coaster with no loops and just lots of airtime hills a turns. And then u will be on the edge..... Man this is gonna be great. The trains look awesome by the way. Thanks for the pic Smile

Yes, Skyrush will only have lap bars as the picture on the previous page shows. The bars are attached on the back of the seat and come over your head, but no horse collar or straps.

With this secure and added freedom, I continue to think Skyrush will not only be epic, but a world class rated ride. Can not wait. cheers

thom25 wrote:Oh I agree - Brandon referred to this train as coaster perfection and couldn't agree more since I'd like to see them on more than a few other rides.

As an aside, Chris this is a family friendly site, so while I loved your pic and got a good chuckle from it, moving forward, it probably isn't appropriate (imho).

Thanks guys, I'll keep note of that, I changed the picture so that it can stay family friendly Wink and wizzard33 Thanks for telling me as well, I'll keep note of that...

Now back to Skyrush, Does anyone know when we could see testing?

How is the loading going to work? Is the line going to split so riders board from both sides or are all riders going to board from the same side?

I edited the post out, the pic is gone. Thanks for being cooperative, Chris G.
Getting back to Skyrush, I think testing will probably happen towards the end of March. Maybe even the middle of March. But personally I would say the last 2 weeks of March it will start testing. The trains will go on the track probably once the station is ready or the track is complete(only 10 pieces of track remain)

Great updates! I see they're using those "swing-down" brakes that was first seen on Cheetah Hunt in Busch Gardens Tampa. Only time will tell if there will be brakes on the flat section of the "bridge" that crosses over Comet's initial brake run. There's a lot of permanent brakes in the flat section after the Comet fly-over.

There will be breaks on the bride. That's the reduction break run. Because the last brake run is too short to stop the train at the speed it will be going(stop comfortably that is, I'm sure it could slam you)

Someone else also asked what swing down brakes are (not "break"! If you're going to be coaster enthusiasts, get the spelling right! Wink ), so I'm going to combine the two because they are related.

Storm Runner and Fahrenheit use drop down brakes where the fins drop down while staying parallel to the track. They also mount the reactor fins (the metal fins that you see on the track- they react with the magnets) on the track, and put the magnets on the underside of the car.

Starting with Cheetah Hunt (an Intamin LSM multi-launch coaster at Busch Gardens in Tampa, FL.) swing down brakes were used, where the reactor fin was mounted on the track, and reacted with the same magnets on the car that are used in the launch sections. Swing down brakes are like a door. The pivot point is on one side of the bracket that the fin is mounted on, and the pneumatic ram is mounted on the other side, where a door knob would be. The ram retracts, and the fin swings down, going from the up (horizontal) position to a down (vertical) position. This design is used probably because it requires less maintenance than the drop-down brakes, and probably cheaper to manufacture since it doesn't involve a lot of parts and welding in the components.

From the pictures, I can't tell if the brakes are the reactor fin part or the magnet part that is mounted on the track. I'll have to wait until Skyrush opens and I can take a closer look.
