Well work on the new footers over by the far end of the site are started and the footer before the Stengel is almost done, if not, completely done. Maybe the track is already up there now?

Re: Skyrush Official Discussion Thread
How old is that first update? Hasn't the crane been out for a while?
Anyway, it's nice to see some track go up right before the brakerun. But I couldn't tell the progress of the final footers they started, pictures are too zoomed in, I personally like pictures that show the whole scope of the project.
But thanks for the pictures regardless!

I think I know what the thing on the track is in the pic above . I think it is being used to measure dicta nice between objects and the trains, such as comets station. B/c you can see that it has what looks like poles on the side. What do you think I could be for?

I agree with Brandon they are probably in storage or something like that. They realy do not have to bring theme out until the track is realy class to being complete(which it is close to being done just not close enough). I could be wrong though.

Looking at the station pics, it appears the floor is made of concrete and will not lower. There are many rides around the country with fixed floors and your feet shouldn't drag. You may have to jump up a bit, or the seats could be tilted back to keep your feet up.

They got the drum installed, the gear boxes built also. The motor is in a crate to the side. All for the cable lift.

I was wondering the same thing too- will they thread the return cable above the lower portions of comet, under comet, or within the lift structure? I'm sure there will be some kind of tensioning mechanism to keep the cable taut.

I don't think it can go under Comet, because the creek is there. Seeing the site many times in person, I do not believe there is a return shoot. Intamin must of had to design a new kind of cable lift system. We'll find out soon enough though.

Re: Skyrush Official Discussion Thread
I saw that footer for the Comet bridge over the creek. They would have to cut a conduit through it to put a cable under Comet and over the queue line. I don't see that happening.

I saw it for the first time yesterday in person. The photos are great but they really don't show the true size of this thing. I think they were on top of the turnaround after SDL's loop painting it. I hope they are going to cut a few trees down b/c they are on the track of skyrush. I never knew how wide the track really was.

^ omg I know I was there yesterday too and it looked massive in person. I mean I thought they looked big in person.... But when u stand there by the side of the road right under the first drop u only have one word...... Wow. Also the construction site looked deserted yesterday. I think it was cause it was so windy. Was gonna get some pics but they were not working.

There is a return cable. If you look at the pictures (especially the ones from 2/21) of the station where the lift hill structure is visible, you can see the white pulley on the underside for the return cable. The towing sled will begin further up from this pulley, and extend into the station so that the train can latch onto the sled. As the sled goes over the top, it will pull away from the track and continue inside the lift structure. Depending on where the train will engage with the sled, the sled must be able to continue on over the top so that the entire train can clear the top of the lift.

There has been talk of Looper receiving new paint, along with the new trains, magnetic brakes and lift chain. I know some of that talk was about it being originated back to it's tan and orange scheme but now it may just be repainted blue again.

Hersheypark is really cleaning up this year then, refurbrishing Sooperdooperlooper, Skyrush, modifying the Monorail...this makes me wonder, how much longer they are going to wait to refurbish Storm runner, expand the park, and expand the monorail system.

Well it's not like money is an issue. And actually the more they put in the more they will most likely bring in and then a year or so later they can put out even more.( In theory)

Money is not an issue, Hershey is rich and gets richer every year, even without putting anything new in. This year is going to be huge for them tho! they have the plans and hershey has already been laid out for the park's expansion, I can't waitr until it does, because lets face it...I love Hershey, but when they start building rides on top of other rides, its time to expand...I love the effect that gives riders but eventually it just wont look good anymore.

I don't see why they wouldn't do the whole thing. It would look odd to see parts nice and repainted and then see right next to it and see dull faded paint
