Here's Fox 43's segment:
http://www.fox43.com/videogallery/67735572/News/1-30-HersheyPark-Skyrush-Topping-Off
Just to make sure no one is confused, the date mentioned is the park's first day of operations for the 2012 season - May 4th. Skyrush will be opening Memorial Day weekend, not May 4th.

Next step would be to add the remaining track on top of the structure that was erected. Clifford was supposed to be out by February 1st but considering the weather delays, I don't know if a clause to extend over the deadline was included with the rental or not. The rest of the coaster can be constructed with the smaller cranes already on site since height won't be an issue there.

The front cover of the 2012 Hersheypark Group Sales brochure. Hopefully this will give us more of an idea of what to expect with the rack brochure as well.

Inside the Group Sale Brochure - page two.

Hopefully this will give us more of an idea on what to expect with the regular park brochure, which should be out pretty soon. Usually, the Group Sale Brochure and regular Park Brochure are similar in design.

These pictures are great and making me excited even though I've never been on a coaster that goes this high...EVER, but I might get up the guts to ride it. I can't wait to see what it looks like when it's done.

Re: Skyrush Official Discussion Thread

Welcome back to another Skyrush update - fresh from our Chocolate-Covered February meet-up. We have A LOT to cover so let's get started, shall we?

Let's go check out Tudor Square, shall we....

Even with the trees at full bloom, the ride will still be visible from some areas approaching the park's entrance proper, creating a nice visual "backdrop" for visitors.

Construction of the new path is now visible, which will connect Rhineland with Comet Hollow. This will look amazing as guests enter the park and see the new coaster in the background.

Even with the trees in full bloom, the coaster will be able to be seen from certain areas in Rhineland.

A view of the lift hill from the terrace of the former Hershey Museum.

As well as some of the construction site off in the distance.

Peeking up from behind Hersheypark Place.

Another view of the construction that has started on the path between Rhineland and Comet Hollow. As you can see, there is construction equipment next to the gift shop building and the preview windows are now gone.

Work on re-building the creek walls continues to take place.

More pieces for the catwalk lay in the creek bed ready to be installed.

I'm really excited at how this will provide great head choppers for riders on board the Comet.

This photo really shows how the height is compared to spectators on the ground. The structure is HUGE!

Here's a close-up track shot for you guys.

As you can see, they've begun to install the catwalk on the one side of the lift hill. Should look amazing when completed.

As you can see, the station is really beginning to take shape. Also note the stakes in the ground where they have begun to mark out where the queue line area will be located.

The track is also beginning to be erected over Comet's station.

The transfer track and brake run look completed.

Just a small tribute to the "Iron Workers Local 404" for the tremendous hard work they've done, and continue to do, building us this large extreme coaster for all of us to enjoy! Our many thanks goes out to you all!

Great Bear looms in the shadow of Skyrush. Let's go over to the Hershey Story parking lot to check out the construction from that vantage point, shall we?

This view really gives us the idea of how this thing dwarfs the Comet.

Some of us taking some time out for a pic with "our baby".
Let's head up to the hill to see what we can find there....

What's left out in the former airstrip.

Skyrush has really become the "jewel" of Hersheypark and is clearly evident in the park skyline.

And I conclude this update with our fabulous group of All-American Thrills supporters who have helped to make our site a success! Many thanks goes out to all of you for your continued support!

Re: Skyrush Official Discussion Thread
The craziness hasn't stopped yet. Now after clearing the Comet roof the coaster will then drop a few feet to brakes and the station.
I had thought the final brakes were before clearing the Comet station.

I think they have a trim brake right before it hops over Comet's station. Since the hop over Comet's station isn't that banked, a trim brake right before it is understandable.

Re: Skyrush Official Discussion Thread
Well, I think it seemed like progress slowed because of the lift being constructed(That too a VERY long time) But, last week they put up at least 10 if not more supports. Did the brake run, and some of the track over Comet's station. And also TONS of station work was done. So it certainly is moving at an expotential rate now! And trains are probably going to be there in the next few weeks. Personally, I think any day they will be arriving. I also think there is a very good chance the trains are already there somewhere. Testing will probably start end of March early April.

Man everything has come a long way since the rumors of a "dive"coaster. But that was a good guess considering it is in the middle of the creek. But this is better. Hershey never stops surprising . The past few coasters I have been " where are they going to put it there is no room. Sorry if it is off topic but HP needs to expand soon

Infact, let me create an entire discussion thread for HP's expansion.

I think clIfford isn't needed any more b/c the track and stairs on top are done. I think the rest can be handled by the smaller cranes.

Might be, someone on the Project 2012 group snapped a picture yesterday of the top section of the track that was to be placed on the arc laying on flatbead truck heading down Park Blvd towards the construction site. These pics were taken since that happened so it's quite possible.
